First Australians Mardi Gras Parade Entry 2010

Thanks heaps to everyone who came in the First Australians float. You made it such a success!
This year all parade participants came onto the roof of ACON and had a BBQ, collected their '40,000+ Years of Pride' t-shirts, made banners and sat in the sun chatting. It was a celebratory start to our float especially as we were the first community float in the parade! Our float consisted of the First Australians banner, the Elders car - huge thank you to Redfern AMS for supplying the Elders Car! - a sexy black Toyota Hylux with our generator, lights and smoke machine (which didn't work as the generator blew up!) and a huge mob of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, non Aboriginal and non Torres Strait Islander people walking behind.
People took amazing effort to dress up and many wore the Aboriginal Project t-shirt '40, 000+ Years of Pride'.
We would love to hear your feedback on your experiences in the parade. Please email atsi@acon.org.au with your praise and criticism so that we can make our 2011 entry the best one ever!
