Partnership with Pacific Sexual Diversity Network

ACON has established a long term partnership with groups addressing HIV and sexuality issues in the Pacific by collaborating with the Pacific Sexual Diversity Network (PSDN).

PSDN represents organisations from:

• Samoa
• Papua New Guinea
• Fiji
• Cook Islands
• Tonga

Delegates from PPSDN participated in a 2 week exchange to ACON in 2008, focusing on skills building in:

• Advocacy
• Organisational infrastructure
• Health promotion programs

This exchange and the development of an advocacy tool for use in the Pacific was funded by AusAID’s Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship (ALAF) program.

ACON’s support to Pacific organisations continues through regular skills building workshops co-presented by the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations and funded by AusAID’s HIV Consortium for Capacity Building in Asia and the Pacific.
