Illawarra - Staff Profiles

Radda Jordan - Manager Southern Region
Radda leads all aspects of the Illawarra office, including business and budget planning, day to day operations, staff supervision and partnerships with other service providers and community organisations. She also manages project development, statistics and resources and supports fund raising. Radda has had over 20 years experience leading projects and community organisations and has strong and vast networks across the southern region that can assist the Illawarra office achieve its goals.

 

Nadia - Administration and Volunteer Officer

Nadia is the face of Front of House for ACON Illawarra. Nadia is responsible for all administrative duties and supporting the Illawarra team. She coordinates the volunteer project and is responsible for the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers. Nadia ensures that all the volunteers know how valuable their contributions are to the running of the office. The Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is a significant part of Nadia’s role at reception.

 

Trevor - Community Health Promotion Officer

Trevor works with the GLBT community focusing on Gay men and other men who have sex with men. He provides Community Health Promotion and outreach through developing and promoting sexual health and other campaigns through local and state-wide GLBT media and community access spaces. He also coordinates our training program for mainstream services.

 

Michelle - Sex Worker Outreach Project (SWOP) Officer

Michelle provides information, support and referrals for people working in the sex industry. This is done through outreach to workers in parlours, privately situated and street based workers.  She also coordinates the PKSWIP (Port Kembla Sex Worker’s Improvement Project) Committee that meets regularly to proactively support a safe and healthy environment for Sex Workers in and around Port Kembla.


Chadwick- Community Health Promotion Officer

Chadwick works primarily with young GLBT people and those exploring their sexual and gender identity. He runs a school aged youth group, Q to Q, every fortnight. He also conducts challenging homophobia workshops in high schools as part of the Department of Education and Training's Crossroads program. He works in close partnerships with other youth services in the Illawarra to support and advocate for young GLBT youth across the region.

 

Cristina - Volunteer Counsellor Coordinator, Southern Region

Christina is the southern region's counsellor and works on a Monday. As well as providing face-to-face counselling Cristina will also be working to establish an after hours volunteer counselling program for the region. Counselling is available on line, by phone or face to face on Mondays. Please contact the ACON Illawarra office on 4226 1163 to discuss counselling options and intake.
