HIV + The Brain

One woman's story of losing her mind to HIV, and getting it back again.
Maggie Atkinson has lived with HIV for many years. In the article (see link below), she tells her story of change; from working as a successful lawyer to developing difficulties with speech and writing. More importantly, Maggie talks about her successful recovery, and the many strategies that she embraced to overcome her situation, strategies she continues to use to stay healthy and happy.
Please follow this link to Maggie's story ‘A Mind of Her Own'.
To find out more about the possible effects of HIV on the brain please read the booklet - HIV-Associated MND (Mild Neurocognitive Disorder), How to recognise the signs and symptoms.
If you think you may be experiencing any of these symptoms, please speak with your doctor.
