Difficulties with ejaculation

There are two common problems gay men experience with ejaculation:

  • Ejaculating too soon / too quickly
  • Difficulty with ejaculating

Ejaculating too quickly (sometimes called “premature ejaculation”) is fairly common. One research study found that 44% of gay men had ever experienced this problem, while research in Sydney found that about 20% had had this problem recently. Cumming too soon is most often because of having a highly sensitive penis. The solution is learn to gain better control over when you’re going to cum. Some simple techniques are:

  • Stop for a moment
  • Hold on tight at the base of the dick
  • Change positions
  • Alter the stimulation
  • Pull the testicles down

On the flipside, about 40% of gay men say that they’ve ever experienced difficulty cumming.   It might just be that you’re not turned on enough, or that you’re stressed.  Generally, getting anxious about it is only going to make it worse.  As with most sexual activities, we need to be relaxed to really enjoy it.  Try to be more aware of your body, and get into an enjoyable rhythm.  Breaking the rhythm when you are close to cumming can be frustrating and it often takes a while to build back up again.
